It can be daunting searching for a therapist but you have already taken the first step, so
congratulations! My name is Amy (she/her) and I am an integrative counsellor and
psychotherapist, with experience seeing clients at Mind BLMK and Herts Mind Network. I
am a warm, empathic person and I offer you a confidential space where you can be heard
I am trained in a range of approaches including psychodynamic, person-centred,
humanistic, CBT, transactional analysis and existential amongst others. I will explore how
you would like to work in order to find a form of counselling that you find most helpful.
I am a member of the BACP, so I have regular supervision, engage in regular professional
development activities and abide by the BACP’s ethical framework. I am fully insured with
Holistic Insurance and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Please ask
I work with people from all backgrounds, races, religions, physical and mental health
difficulties and ages, but my particular areas of interest include LGBTQ+ issues, postnatal
depression and anxiety disorders. Whilst I hope in future to provide accessible face-to-face therapy, my therapy room is currently up a flight of stairs. Please enquire about online
sessions if you feel comfortable working over Zoom. I invite feedback on a regular basis,
so that I can ensure I’m working in a way that is helpful to you.
At the heart of what I do is a respect for the autonomy of each individual client: you make
your own choices and you are the expert in your life. I am not here to give advice but I will
listen to you and I will collaborate with you to find a way forward. Whatever you are going
through, this way of working can lead to a process of self-discovery, greater self-worth,
improved self-esteem and an ability to make new, meaningful choices in life.
Please have a look at my website or get in touch if you would like to arrange an initial session.
