Nicole Pyne MRCPod

Your feet deserve a little more admiration …….. considering that nearly a quarter of your body’s bones are in your feet!  Each foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, 19 muscles, 10 tendons, 107 ligaments and 8,000 nerves! During an average day of walking the forces in your feet can total hundreds of tons! With this in mind my aim through clinical practice is to deliver excellent foot care to treat a variety of conditions and keep those important feet happy.
Having qualified from The university of Huddersfield with a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry /Chiropody commenced my career within the NHS in Derbyshire.  A few years later I relocated to Hertfordshire and spent 18 years as a police officer with the latter 12 years as a Detective within the safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse team.  I developed the key skills necessary to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people and gather the relevant information required to enable me to make professional decisions.  These skills are equally as valuable in my role as a Podiatrist.
Having returned to Chiropody/Podiatry 6 years ago I joined the NHS again and specialised in the diabetic foot and wound care as of January 2023.
I am now fully based in private practice at The Southdown Clinic and continue my home visits.  I am thoroughly enjoying my career and am committed to the health and well being of my patients.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and am a member of The Royal College of Podiatry. My commitment to my patients is to continually update my knowledge and skills by way of ongoing continuing professional development (CPD), to provide the best and latest foot care.
